What Makes Simcoe Addiction and Mental Health (SAMH) Unique to other Treatment Facilities?
Simcoe Addiction and Mental Health believe that no two clients are alike and every person seeking help deserves compassionate and comprehensive care. Using this core philosophy as our guiding principle, SAMH employs a multi-disciplinary team to provide the highest level of care. Our team includes counsellors, psychotherapists, doctors, nurses, and support staff (chefs, yoga teachers, etc.)
You are not alone if you’re struggling with substance abuse or mental health growing edges (or both). SAMH is both qualified and capable of addressing and beginning to treat a variety of mental health challenges. Simcoe Rehab provides compassionate evidence-based services for those coping with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders.
The staff at Simcoe Rehab are devoted to helping clients achieve their goals. Our treatment and recovery plans include working with clients and their families to design a client-specific post-treatment plan, ensuring clients have both the skillset and support to remain healthy after treatment. Simcoe Addiction & Mental Health’s aftercare program incorporates continuing care groups and a free alumni support group. Our emphasis on continuous care management ensures that clients have easy access to the necessary resources to maintain sobriety.
Attending treatment can be a scary choice. SAMH believes it is our job to make this choice as comfortable as possible. Our facility in Cookstown, Ontario, is a mix of understated luxury and country living. Clients have access to various self-soothing and physical health facilities, including a pool, hot tub, and sauna, which are perfect for beginning exercise or deep relaxation. Additionally, a home theatre is used to screen treatment content or enjoy a film with the client community, and the gym is a client favourite for building new routines. The game room is a great setting for unwinding and making new friends. Weekly yoga and art therapy are vehicles for change and self-discovery. SAMH chefs cook healthy and delicious dishes daily to ensure our clients are healthy and well-fed!
Boots on The Ground is a charitable organization completely run and staffed by volunteer First Responders. They offer 24/7 over the phone, anonymous peer support to Police, Fire, EMS, Corrections and Nurses throughout Ontario. This includes front line and civilian members, both serving and retired. Boots On The Ground offers a variety of vetted referral services when they speak to people in need of assistance.
They are an alternative to current wellness programs being offered through employers. Boots On The ground believes that these programs are under-utilized because of fears associated with social stigma and confidentiality issues. By keeping this completely separate from employee wellness programs our hope is that more people will utilize our available services. Boots On The Ground offers a completely anonymous service when users call in so they do not have to worry about details of the conversation getting back to their workplace.
