Interventions

Our team of professionals has helped countless families in Ontario and throughout Canada with their intervention needs by providing consultation and on-site interventions.

What is an intervention?

An intervention is a carefully planned process that is best directed by an intervention professional (interventionist). It sometimes involves a member of your loved one’s faith or others who care about the person struggling with addiction.

At Simcoe Addiction and Mental Health a drug and/or alcohol intervention is a loving process to help motivate your loved one to consider change and seek help. It is a process that begins long before the troubled person is even spoken to, and continues long after the person seeks help. It involves the caring support of the troubled person’s closest friends, family and business associates.

The assistance of a professional intervention mediator allows the family to express their feelings toward their loved one in a manner that will not be viewed as harsh or confrontational by the individual.

In order to ensure the success of an intervention, it is very important to ensure that the process is firm but also that it comes from the heart with love. In order to help your loved one, Simcoe Addiction and Mental Health coordinates tactics with families, such as yours, in the most effective and efficient manner possible.

Most commonly, the intervention has the goal of coming between your loved one and the behaviour or drinking and substance abuse that presents as problematic. In most cases, it is alcohol or drug abuse.  Often, the goal is to save your loved one’s life and have them enter treatment for alcohol or drug abuse.

Over the years, we have helped numerous families intervene and help a loved one with the support they need and deserve.  We are fully capable of providing intervention services throughout Ontario and Canada.

All services are confidential and we are fully equipped to offer our services in a confidential manner avoiding neighbours, co-workers, and media which can be important for business executives, sports figures and people with a public presence. In short, we can offer services from your door to treatment admission to home again with 100% confidentiality.

Ontario Alcohol Intervention

Alcohol intervention is common after a family has waited too long for their loved one to change alone. You don’t have to wait for your loved one to hit bottom; we can help right now. There are subtle differences that separate an alcoholic from an individual who is addicted to drugs. For this reason, it is important to enlist the aid of a professional interventionist or intervention counsellor who is experienced in handling your family’s specific scenario. It is imperative that you seek aid for a loved one addicted to alcohol as soon as you can by using our intervention services. The wear and tear that occurs to the body and mind of an alcoholic is very dangerous and the sooner you seek help, the better off the loved one will be. We are able to provide interventions in Ontario or Canada very quickly in the comfort of your own home.

Ontario Drug Intervention

Ontario contains a high concentration of heroin, fentanyl and OxyContin users. These people are typically under the age of 30 and are heading down a very dangerous path that almost always ends in prison or death. Dealing with a loved one’s drug problem can be overwhelming and devastating for a family. With our expert interventionists’ assistance, we can alleviate much of the stress and pain caused by drug addiction. At Simcoe Addiction and Mental Health, we understand that drug problems typically stem from much deeper issues. Our drug intervention specialists have the knowledge to train the family in a proactive approach, educating each family member on the level of care required and how to approach their loved one in a non-confrontational way. We will work with the family to ensure their loved one gets to treatment and returns to a more positive, healthy environment.
